Shoot Your Food

I'm so glad that I got to spend the semester authoring blog posts for my digital marketing course so that you had something to read! From breakfast, cheese, trail mix, hot drinks, desserts, Halloween treats and food, to Thanksgiving day I had a really fun time discussing things with you. I love food and writing has to be a close second so while I didn't have the time, and wasn't able to write fiction I did have fun. I've learned a lot about how hard it is to reach a certain word length when it's not a work of fiction. I did have fun though spreading information. Thank you for reading! Link to Picture

Thanksgiving is such a special time of year to be able to get together with family over a very yummy meal. I'd say that in it self is something to be thankful for. There's different things about Thanksgiving that people look forward to. I want to focus on the food aspect appetizers, the main meal, and of course dessert! I'm not sure if anyone does appetizers before the Thanksgiving meal or if it's just my family. We just get so hungry so we swarm in the kitchen and this makes my grandma angry so she puts out cheese and crackers, or deviled eggs for us to snack on. The main meal at my Thanksgiving consist of sweet potatoes, stuffing (box), turkey, ham, buns, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberries, black olives, and scalloped potatoes. All of which are super delicious to me!  For dessert my grandma puts out pumpkin pie, blueberry cheesecake, and banana pie. I personally enjoy banana pie. No matter what part your most excited for I hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving! Live on,

Today is the day to go out and make your voice be heard! Whether you go before work, after, or during you are doing your civil duty. After all this is a government run by the people for the people. You may think well I'm just one person what's the difference going to make? However, if everyone feels that way then only a small percentage of people will actually vote and the person you want to win won't because you didn't go. If you can't think of one reason to vote then let me give you some. If you don't vote for your  interests who will? Only 60% of people vote in the presidential election fewer vote in the midterm election. The excitement of casting your vote and the anticipation to see who wins. To honor the 2,852,901 U.S. citizens who gave their lives or have been wounded to protect the constitution that protects your right to self-determine your community, state, and nation. I'm asking you to take a small part out of your day to vote. It's now in you

Halloween can be tricky but done right is a real treat! Weather your dressing up to go out or to stay in candy is always a nice addition to the equation. According to Forbes there is 10 most sought out candy from kids. Ranging from Reese's, Kit Kat's, Butterfingers, to Sour Patch Kids and Nerds. The least favorite is licorice, peanut butter taffy, and Tootsie rolls. When getting candy be sure to check it all first throw away anything that doesn't look right or is open. Parents won't have trouble looking at the candy in fact i'm sure they will even offer to taste test it for their children! Trick or treating should be about the treats and the dressing up so be safe out there. What comes to mind when you think of traditional Halloween food? Perhaps a caramel apple, candy corn, squishy candy shaped like different body parts? These are all good traditional Halloween candy ideas, but really any food can be made in the spirit of Halloween. What makes a dessert spooky? Well it depends on what you find as spooky. From ghosts, to pumpkins, to grave stones to spiders all these are spooky in their own way as they represent a very special holiday! Halloween has many things associated with it and these things can help be your inspiration for snacks, cupcakes, and other desserts. A spooky dessert doesn't even have to have blood and gore especially if you're catering to a younger crowd. Need more ideas? I know most of you might prefer coffee or cider but the beverage I'm talking about today is hot chocolate! Hot chocolate comes in many different flavors and there's so much you can do with it! You can add marshmallows, peppermint pieces, and even cool whip on top! I definitely think there's plenty you can do with hot chocolate that makes it such a beautiful thing to take pictures of. There's also different flavors of hot chocolate like S'mores in the picture and Oreo also has it's own hot chocolate out! With cold weather it's nice to warm up no matter what hot beverage you prefer. Live on, Dream on, Eat on!
